Welcome to our PTFA section.
The Parent, Teacher and Friends Association is a fun, sociable and charitable organisation with two main aims:
It is made up of parents and carers whose children attend the school, teachers and governors.
What does the PTFA do?
The main objective of the PTFA is to support the work of the school by raising additional funds, which help to supplement the budget provided by Essex County Council. Money raised makes a real difference to the children's learning provision.
As well as organising a number of events throughout the year such as a Big Quiz, Summer and Christmas Fayres and end of term discos, we also arrange a number of smaller projects like film afternoons, refreshments at concerts and school productions, ice cream, cakes and second-hand uniform sales. All of these help finance immediate and long term goals of the school.
In addition we run a 50-50 club where subscribers have the opportunity to win a cash prize while raising funds for the school. Draws are made monthly with half of the months funds going to the winner and the other half to funds.
The Giving Machine, fundraising initiative
This is a not-for-profit online fundraising website that enables online shoppers to give cash donations to UK schools & charities, for free. Further information can be found by clicking on the Fundraising link on the home page.
Fancy signing up or think you can help? Click here to express your interest and a PTFA member will be in touch!
There is also a suggestion and ideas box in the school entrance so please take the time to add your ideas and post in the box.
As the name PTFA suggests, all members of the school community are members of the group, whether Parents, Teachers (and Governors) or Friends.
