Darwin's Delights

Our new topic this half term is Darwin's Delights! We're off on an expedition with Charles Darwin and his crew of the HMS Beagle. We will trace his route across the vast ocean, stop at the magical Galapagos islands to see the amazing specimens that helped him develop his theory of evolution by natural selection.

Do you know what's so special about a lava lizard? See how animals adapt to their environment over time and meet some of the world's greatest explorers and naturalists. We could even imagine how humans may evolve in millions of years. So let's trace the origin of species!

Guided Reading

Sky Hawk

by Gill Lewis

Something lives deep within the forest... something that has not been seen on Calllum's farm for over a hundred years. Callum and Iona make a promise to keep their amazing discovery secret but can they keep it safe from harm?

The pact they make will change lives forever.....

War Poetry

We have read Siegfried Sassoon's Time to Die as inspiration for our own poetry. We have attempted to rhyme and use our knowledge of figurative language to make the reader really think.

I will no longer be posting daily work on the website. If you have a problem accessing the daily work on Teams, and would still like it posted here, please call the school office. We will still be posting our work here to celebrate it. Thank you.

A Child's War

We have been studying World War 2 and its impact on the lives of children. Here are some examples of letters written from the frontline to a loved one. In one paragraph, the children write in 2nd person and address the reader directly. Tricky stuff...

This week Holly children made air raid shelters as part of our topic about children in the Second World War. Aren't they great?
